Dear Father

It is quite a leanth of time since I have written to you although I have received three I am quite lonesome to night it being sunday which is usuily a lonesome day But we will be buisy enough tomorrow as it is the day appointed for general inspection and besides the paymaster has got here and we will get our pay in a couple of days I do not know as I will send any money home this time as I have a chance at lending it at Twenty Five percent untill next payday and have it arranged so that I will lose nothing in case of the death of my debtor and I want you to give me your opinion and I will be guided by it We get the war news quite regular I do not like hookers being driven back and besides I think little Mac will be the one that will take Richmond Yet there seems to be more fear at the present time about foreign powers interfeering than has ever been before and I think it looks more like it than it ever did There is a report that our brigade and the first are going down to fredericksburg but I do not know how true it is Give my love to all of the family And kiss the children for me
