My Dear beloved wife I now set myself down to inform you of my health at present which is good at present hoping these few lines will find your health the same I left the Canal in June and went to Carbondale in Pennsylvania there is a co(al) mine and I work in it I have fourteen dollars amonth I want to see you vary much and malvina to and all the rest give my respects to Elon Elihu Charlotte Hannah Lucy Tell Lucy I wish her mcuh Joy I dont now when I shall come home but I gess I shall come home in the spring you must not think that I have forgot you for there is not aday goes over my head but what I think of you I see robbins in Syracuse and he said you had gone home I want you to wright me aletter as quick as you can and wright your circumstances jest as they bee and wright about same and mother wright about your things and whare you bee and about our place oliver folks and so no more at presant but still remain your beloved husband
